Central Question

How can we improve psychophysical threshold estimation by incorporating observers' confidence in their responses?

Overview

Traditional adaptive methods for threshold estimation treat each response as a simple correct/incorrect binary outcome. This research develops methods that incorporate the observer's confidence rating alongside their response, extracting more information per trial and potentially improving the efficiency and precision of threshold estimates.
